Emotions - Intelligence & Emotional Intelligence

Are you Intelligent or emotional? Are you emotionally Intelligent or do you exhibit Intelligent emotions? Let's try to understand and explore. I am writing this post neither because I am emotional right now nor to show off my intelligence but to share my thoughts on the indispensable characteristics of living beings - the emotions and the Intelligence. We all are aware of what emotions are, but at some point of time in life we all wonder as to why do we get emotional - Don't we?  Emotions are natural responses to certain situations, circumstances, people or  things. Every one has different triggers to emotions and different levels at which their emotions get triggered. Some one may have well emotionally balanced mind but I personally refuse to believe that there could be any human, animal or any other living species without emotions. And I really find it too impractical and unreal when I read posts and suggestions saying things like you are the master of yo...

Time Management!

Hey there, Hope this post find you in the pink of health. Well, without wasting much time let's get to the actual content. A professor was addressing a gathering of young and middle aged audience. He made some arrangements to hand over a glass jar, few rocks, little sand, some pebbles and water to all the members in the auditorium. When the distribution of the above said things was over, the professor then asked them to fit in all the contents i.e sand, rocks, pebbles and water in to the jar given to them. But the jar was not big enough to accommodate all of those. Someone filled it up with sand and rocks and it was already full. Each person was trying and trying harder in different ways to complete the task but no body was successful. The professor then went on to demonstrate this. At first he put in all the rocks in to the jar. It was 2/3rd full already. He then poured little pebbles in to the jar and shook the jar. The little pebbles settled in the empty spaces b...

30 Interesting Facts about Earth

How well do we know our planet? 1. The actual shape of Earth is not a sphere but an oblate spheroid or Geoid. This shape is similar to a sphere, but the poles are flattened and the equator bulges (due to rotation). The Earth is made up of layers. The Inner and Outer Core, the Mantle, and Crust. Credit: discovermagazine.com   2. It is the Molten Iron Core layer of the Earth that Creates a Magnetic Field on Earth. 3. The surface of the Earth is divided in to tectonic plates that float on the rocky mantle.  4. The inside of the Earth is very active with mountain formations, volcanoes and earth quakes occurring along the boundaries of tectonic plates. 5. Earth has less craters on the surface (compared to moon and few other planets) due to it's geological activities (like volcanoes & earth quakes) and movement of tectonic plates. 6. Earth revolves around the sun in its orbit at a speed of 67,000 mph (107,826 km/h)  7. The Earth i...

Practice before you preach...

Do you do as you say? There was a little boy named Krish. Krish was a very innocent, sweet and cute. He had a heart that was pure, unpolluted and uncontaminated. One day Krish saw his mother addressing her friends (neighboring women)  on the sacred Ramayan. She extolled the truthfulness of the Lord and king Ram and concluded that truth could never be hidden for long, that we should always speak truth no matter what the situation is and irrespective of the consequences, and that truth alone always wins. Krish heard all of the talk. The ladies had a good feast and then after all the ladies dispersed a beggar appeared at their door and this lady who was lecturing on truth now screamed at the beggar saying that she hasn't cooked anything yet and yelled at the beggar to get lost from there. Hearing this Krish was a bit confused and disturbed as there was lot of food in the home. He couldn't understand why his mother told the beggar that she hasn't cooked anything. ...

Hey there, Lets talk about Information. Many a times we are not the first hand recipients of information. We receive information from someone or through the Internet or the media. Some of us are wise enough to ponder over the details received from any third or fourth party sources but most of us blindly believe in what comes around from Mr.XYZ and everyone around. A wise one would use his/her intellect and wisdom to ponder over that information and decide whether to trust and take it in or throw it out. That is what makes us different from animals. The power of thinking and intellect. To illustrate this, lets remind ourselves of this famous story of a fox. There was once a fox in a jungle. One day the fox accidentally slipped in to a deep well and was unable to get out of there. So it came up with an idea. As soon as it heard a sheep bleat, it started exclaiming very loud  "wow. This water is so tasty!".  Hearing this the sheep went close to the well and asked...

Trending technologies!

Hi, Today I would like to throw light on a few of the currently trending technologies. Change is the only permanent thing in life. The change also changes over time. So its indispensable to keep oneself aware of trending technologies and if possible update oneself in the currently trending technologies. 1. Big Data Analytics  -      a. Hadoop Framework      b. Spark Framework   Big data refers to huge amounts/volumes of data. We know that these days Internet is a basic necessity of day to day life and huge amounts of data of various types (like text, image, tables, or other forms of data) are being created everyday. Its huge amount like in PetaBytes (PB) per day piling up in to several trillions of PB's (1 PB = 10 power 15 bytes of data) gradually. So it is a great deal of task to create, maintain, manage and mine the data (extract some particular data from the huge volumes of data available). So this is a forever need be...
