Practice before you preach...

Do you do as you say?

There was a little boy named Krish. Krish was a very innocent, sweet and cute. He had a heart that was pure, unpolluted and uncontaminated.

One day Krish saw his mother addressing her friends (neighboring women)  on the sacred Ramayan. She extolled the truthfulness of the Lord and king Ram and concluded that truth could never be hidden for long, that we should always speak truth no matter what the situation is and irrespective of the consequences, and that truth alone always wins. Krish heard all of the talk. The ladies had a good feast and then after all the ladies dispersed a beggar appeared at their door and this lady who was lecturing on truth now screamed at the beggar saying that she hasn't cooked anything yet and yelled at the beggar to get lost from there. Hearing this Krish was a bit confused and disturbed as there was lot of food in the home. He couldn't understand why his mother told the beggar that she hasn't cooked anything.

The next day he saw his father discussing something regarding a get together with one of his friends. They decided to gather money for conducting the fun get together with some neighbors and good friends. They decided to put in around 20 thousand Indian Rupees each. During the meeting, a 5 year old little boy, the son of the maid of the house came to krish's father and requested him to give him 20 rupees that he was falling short of to pay for the school fee. The man got very furious at the little one and said, "I don't have a single penny with me now. Just go away you poor dirty lad". Seeing this Krish was disappointed and scared. He could not understand why his father couldn't give the boy an amount as little as rupees 20 while he was ready to spend 20 thousand bucks on fun.

Cut to scene three, in school krish was being taught a lesson in history. The lesson was about the life of the king Harishchandra popularly known as satya Harishchandra. Krish was very impressed with the story as well as with the way the teacher delivered the story. After a while, there was a huge commotion in the class as an announcement was made that the principal would visit the class and check the progress of the students and the syllabus. At this the teacher told all the students, "listen kids the lesson I taught today was lesson no. 15 but when the principal asks you which lesson you are currently in, you must say lesson no. 20". Once again Krish was perplexed. He couldn't understand how the person who wonderfully explained the value of truth a few minutes ago was asking them now to speak a lie!

That day after school Krish went back home furious and he threw away his bag and books aside and shouted aloud that he would never go to school again. Hearing this his mother and father came close to him and asked him what the matter was. Krish was adamant. He didn't speak a word. So they called up krish's teacher to come and see what the matter was. After the teacher arrived, krish looked at his mother, father and the teacher and said : "You all preach and teach something but you do something else. What hypocrisy is this? Why are you extolling something when you don't follow it? Why should I learn all this and go to school if I need to behave totally different in real life. So I have decided not to go to school or learn anything from the elders ever again. Do you ever do as you say?"

The teacher, father and mother were ashamed. They realized their mistake. They apologized to krish and promised him that they would never do so again.

There are two main conclusions from this story. First we shouldn't suggest, preach or speak of great things until we follow them ourselves. It would be like hearing the praise of god from Satan's mouth. Second, parents and youngsters should be very watchful and aware of their behavior in front of the little kids as they learn and imbibe things from you all directly and indirectly. It's the responsibility of we youngsters, parents and family to imbibe good values and virtues in the future generations, of course not just by means of lecturing but by practically following it in our own lives. Enough of bookish knowledge, stories and morals.. Now lets start making our actions as lessons to the little ones. What the little ones learn in their childhood lasts in their life forever. ABC of life is to Always Be Careful about what you say and what you do.

So tell me, do you do as you say?

Hi, Lets get going further in to the basics of computers. For those of you who are new to this blog, I recommend you to go through part - 1 of the basics before going ahead with this post. Here is the link to part-1: https://techspireme.blogspot.in/2018/04/basics-of-computers.html We have already read from part 1 that Software is a set of applications. Software is basically of two types: 1. System software: software required to start up the system i.e the Operating System software (by booting - a process named Boot Strap Loader loads the operating system from the Hard disk drive to the working memory RAM) 2. Application software: Software designed for a specific purpose that is a collection of programs. Application software always runs on the top of system software. Examples of Application software are: word processors like notepad, wordpad A suite of applications like MS Office Media players (VLC etc) and many more. System software is the base on which applicat...

Types of Computers

Based on the size, computing power and capabilities, the computers are divided in to several types. Let us have a look at these ranking from top to low. 1. Super Computer The fastest and extremely fast computer capable of execution hundreds of millions of instructions per second (MIPS) is called a Super computer. They are highly expensive (around 50-100 million dollars to a few billion dollars) and most powerful.  It can execute n* 10 power 10 to n* 10 power 50 operations per second ex. the NASA super computer Pleiades can execute 5.95 to 7.25 petaflops per second.  1petaflop = one thousand million million = 10 power 15 floating-point operations per second - FLOPS) The super computers are used in research purposes and in intense calculations like weather forecast, Earth quake studies, nuclear reactors & simulations, Astro physics, complex scientific operations etc. NASA uses super computers to launch satellites, rockets and for space exploration. Everything about computers

Hi, I am quite excited to start the technical part of my blog! I hope so are you! Let's start with the Abc of computers that we all find a bit hard to put in to words. These are my own definitions made really simple and easy to understand! Computer:   An electronic device that computes, stores, processes , manipulates and displays the data. Coined from the term "compute", means to calculate. Facts:  First ever computer was used for mathematical calculations. Founder: Charles Babbage - The Father of computers - invented the first ever mechanical computer called "Babbage's Analytical Engine"! Features of a Computer / Advantages of computer over a calculator: Speed, Accuracy, Storage, Multi tasking, Diligence (and many more). A computer comprises of Software and Hardware (all the physical - internal or external components/peripherals that are connected to or a part of computer ex. Keyboard, Mouse, Cabinet, Joystick, USB - pen drive etc. that we c...
