Hi,
Today I have this story running in my mind that I wanted to share with all of you.
There was once a poor farmer. All that he had was a little piece of land and a buffalo. He used to make his living by cultivating that small piece of land. He used to struggle day and night to sow the seeds, water them regularly, pull out the weeds, and struggle a lot to make the crop grow successfully. Until he reaped the crop, he used to live on a piece of bread that he would receive from a baker in return to one pound of butter that the farmer used to sell to the baker. This continued for quite sometime when the baker wasn't sure that he was indeed receiving exactly 1 pound of butter from the farmer. So he weighed the butter he took from the farmer. He noticed that the butter weighed 20% less than 1 pound. The baker was then very angry about this and he took the farmer to a court. In the court the judge questioned the farmer about the cheating he has done to the baker. To this the farmer replied : "Sir! I am a very poor farmer who can hardly earn a piece of bread in a day. I don't have any weighing scale to measure the quantity exactly."
Then the judge questioned the farmer as to how he used to weigh the butter, to which the farmer replied "sir, all that I do daily is measure the pound of butter against the piece of bread that I get from the baker."
So who was at fault? What is the moral of this story?
Well, in many cases life gives us back what we give to it. The universal law of "every action has an equal and opposite reaction" holds true in most of the cases. Of course nothing in the world can be generalized and everything has exceptions but the basic rule is if you put in 30% of effort, you would receive a 30% result only, honestly and without any manipulations. In order to receive honestly from others, we need to be honest first.
Someone once said I want a wife like Sita and a servant like Hanuman, to which a wise man replied, "yes you can. If you can be like Ram".
I hope the message is loud and clear. That's it for today :)
Have a great time.
