Trending technologies!

Hi, Today I would like to throw light on a few of the currently trending technologies. Change is the only permanent thing in life. The change also changes over time. So its indispensable to keep oneself aware of trending technologies and if possible update oneself in the currently trending technologies. 1. Big Data Analytics  -      a. Hadoop Framework      b. Spark Framework   Big data refers to huge amounts/volumes of data. We know that these days Internet is a basic necessity of day to day life and huge amounts of data of various types (like text, image, tables, or other forms of data) are being created everyday. Its huge amount like in PetaBytes (PB) per day piling up in to several trillions of PB's (1 PB = 10 power 15 bytes of data) gradually. So it is a great deal of task to create, maintain, manage and mine the data (extract some particular data from the huge volumes of data available). So this is a forever need be...

Take time!

There was a wood cutter named "John". He was very strong and fit. He went to a timber depot and asked for a job. The timber merchant was impressed with this man's strength and he offered him the job. As the pay and working conditions were good, John accepted the offer and joined the next day. On day one John was very excited. He wanted to impress his boss, the merchant. The merchant gave him an Axe and showed him the area where he needed to work. John, in all his enthusiasm to impress the boss, worked very hard that day and brought trunks of 18 trees. The merchant was really impressed and he appreciated John. John was very happy. He wanted to continue working harder. The next day despite his hard work, he struggled but could bring down only 15 trees. The day after too he worked hard but could bring down only 10 trees. So when John returned to the timber depot on the next day, the merchant asked him what the problem was. John said "Sir, I am strugg...

Basics of Networks!

Network = Collection of computers connected via a wired or wireless connection. Purpose of network : Remote Communication (systems connected in a network can "talk to each other"), Resource sharing, File sharing, Information sharing, grouping. To connect a network with another network that uses a different technology, a router is needed. There are basically two main types of networks. 1. LAN - Local Area Network: A collection of computers and resources (like printer, scanner etc) privately owned and managed by a company/organization The company can use a wired cable or wireless technology. There is good security and reliability here. Ex: A network owned by a private company in a particular floor of a particular Arcade/Building usually in few hundreds of meters of area like 200 mts. 2. WAN: Wide Area Network: A WAN covers larger area than LAN. It typically connects different networks. A LAN is easier to build and maintain than a WAN. I...

Never give Up!

A marine biologist was once conducting an experiment. She was working with a shark in a water tank. In the first instance she dropped a bait in to the tank and as we all can guess the shark swam very fast and gulped down the bait. This happened a few times when the biologist inserted a glass barrier to divide the fish tank in to two parts. When the bait was released in to the tank this time, unaware of the opaque glass barrier, the shark swam towards the bait in high speed, hit the glass barrier and bounced off. It was hurt. But the shark continued to try to attack and break in to the barrier to gulp the bait. It happened a few times. Every time the shark was getting more and more aggressive. And after several attempts the shark gave up. The bait was happily swimming around in the second partition of the tank. The next day too same thing was repeated. The shark tried several times and finally gave up. After some days the glass barrier was removed but the shark was no longer trying. I...

Mothers' Day!

I was just won dering what makes today dedicated to Mothers? What is so special about a mother? Well, in this selfish world with people who wouldn't care even if you are dying in front of them and also with people who wouldn't mind killing each other over sometimes silly things and sometimes for few pieces of paper (money), a mother is the only one who took care of you and me right from the time God planned our birth. She is the only one who protected you as if it were her own life, even when we didn't know ourselves and when we hardly could do anything.  So what? Why should I care? Every mother does that, even the mother of animals and insects! If this is what you think then you need to rethink. For instance, you lose your memory all of a sudden or get bedridden due to some accident or some health issue and you forget even yourself, can you tell me a list of names whom you can count upon? A list of names who would undoubtedly care for you and keep you protected ...

Every action has an equal and opposite reaction!

Hi, Today I have this story running in my mind that I wanted to share with all of you. There was once a poor farmer. All that he had was a little piece of land and a buffalo. He used to make his living by cultivating that small piece of land. He used to struggle day and night to sow the seeds, water them regularly, pull out the weeds, and struggle a lot to make the crop grow successfully. Until he reaped the crop, he used to live on a piece of bread that he would receive from a baker in return to one pound of butter that the farmer used to sell to the baker. This continued for quite sometime when the baker wasn't sure that he was indeed receiving exactly 1 pound of butter from the farmer. So he weighed the butter he took from the farmer. He noticed that the butter weighed 20% less than 1 pound. The baker was then very angry about this and he took the farmer to a court. In the court the judge questioned the farmer about the cheating he has done to the baker. To this the fa...

12+ Unknown Facts about CPU | CPU in Detail

Hey guys, here is the part 3 of basics. Links to previous posts: Part - 1 Part - 2 CPU: Central Processing Unit It is the heart and brain of the computer. A centralized integrated circuit (IC) chip that performs all the arithmetic, logical and input/output operations. It is also referred to as the processor or the processor chip. It is the hardware component that executes instructions specified by software/programs. CPU chip Facts about CPU:  These days we find Dual core, core 2 duo, Quad core or Octa core processor installed on various systems. They contain two (dual core) or more (quad=4, octa=8) central processing units on a single chip! And it is obvious that greater the no. of CPU units, greater is the performance. i.e. An octa core processor is much faster than a dual core one. The design of modern CPU is based on Von Neumann and Harvard architectures. ALU (Arithmetic and Logic Unit), Control Unit (CU) and Memory Unit (MU) are maj...

Life!

Life! - the simplest four letter word that encompasses infinite meaning! So what is life? For some, it's a struggle to make both the ends meet, for some it is a challenge, for some it's a game and yet some see it as a never ending learning experience! Nobody can decide if any of the above mentioned fact is a proper fit to the single, simple word life! Life is all of those and none of those! What? "What are you trying to say?", is that what is going on in your mind right now? Well, as you can't define my life and goals that are specific to me, so also none can define what exactly life is! It's definition, purpose and meaning changes from person to person, time to time, place to place, situation to situation and pov to pov (point of view) and many other factors. For instance, for a mother of two kids, managing her kids and household means everything to her. For someone who holds a high position, like the MD or CEO of a company, managing his c...
